Guess we need to build and ARK again...

We have had a lot of rain, over 3 more inches and no sign of let of tonight or tomorrow and tomorrow night. Lot of the folks down below us are in major trouble. The Yantic River, Shetucket, and Natchaug are all over their banks big time along with the Connecticut River. Even up here on the hill it looks to be a solid 1/2 of water on the surface. I'll see if I can get out tomorrow on our brook by the house here and get some pictures. Sure glad it isn't snow. Yet, by Thursday and over the week end we end up between 60 and 80 degrees on different days. No damage here at our place. If the water gets to us, they are all underwater. ON the plus side, the wells are well stocked. Once the sun comes out you will be able to hear the grass grow. No one driving in any pastures around here for sure.
I see a few of them tried down below and are stuck big time. No point in going in there with a bigger machine, just destroy the rest of it trying to get it out. I really don't get upset.... Feel bad for the folks in the flood plain areas. Most homes here have cellars in them and they fill right out, taking out the heating systems, rec rooms and anything else down there.....

Well, got to go fill up that ARK, Need to find 2 blondes, 2 red heads, 2.........ahhh you know the drill.......

Alice is just finishing her ring... the fields are growing.. gardens will go in next week [or at least some of them]..

I tell you, with Alices' ring going in, she is happier and healthier than she has been in decades.

You sure earned it.... Horse people are happiest when with their horses. If my wife or daughter are down they head to the horses for a ride. Always seems to cheer them up. She says they are far cheaper then a shrink... I'm not sure of that but it works for her.....
This is their last month at the indoor. My daughter brought over her new free lease horse Miller, to meet Janes horse Ace this weekend.
Heidi took a picture of them checking each other out with her cellphone so I grabbed this off her facebook page. The left one is Miller a quarter horse and right is Ace a Missouri Foxtrotter. Ace is gaited and smooth as can be. Jane also just picked up another rescue horse, also a quarter horse as she likes trotting also. Ace when with the group steps out so fast she is always have to turn around to wait. big stride and like to go. The new one will work better with the gang.

They are anxious to get them back here. Fact if it were not raining I'd be out putting up the new white electric wires. Should be a lot more visiable. Deer did a number on them this winter. Good thing the horses were all elsewhere.

What are you putting in for a ring? Ace is pretty much ring sour right now. He is in great shape, but not thrilled about any more ring duty. We fence in the new rescue in the ring right now till we make sure he is not sick. Don't need them all sick...

Pictures pictures.... One of the neighbors just did one with sand, clay and then this rubber stuff over it. Still dusty but not as bad. Courious to see how all that works out.... Ours was dusty, as it was sand, but the grass has come up thru it and not a lot of dust now until they ride it hard and the grass goes mid summer....

She wants a riding ring.. so we are building a 20 metre by 40 metre [66 feet by 132 feet] one that she can ride, jump... just enjoy herself in.

Have one here that we used to use down in the lower pasture. We just outlined it with telephone poles for the border. Its all grassed in now. I should remove the poles as we put one up by the barn now.... Dressage is fun. Lot of it in this area also....
