Its been fun, but I'm going to find an MD forum where there isn't such an unhealthy relationship with sponsors. I don't want to stay somewhere where your posts get deleted for mentioning a non-sponsor brand name of headphones. I wasn't trying to sell anything, I was simply sharing a tip for making your own lightweight, waterproof headphones for the AT Pro.

Happy hunting guys. I may see some of you again, just not here.

RULES are RULES - this is the only forum on the net. Just apologize and be happy you have some guidance! The only one offended is you.

Wow...would you like another glass of Kool-Aid.

Sorry to see you go, CdO.

Some mods are quicker to make posts go poof than others. I've never found John or his predecessor, the late Bill Revis, to be quick with the delete button so I'm thinking there may be a little more to this story than what is being said here. I do know being a mod is an unpaid job, so they have my appreciation and gratitude for what they do.

The main thing to remember when it comes to deleting posts, this ain't a democracy. I've had threads I've participated in get deleted and it can be frustrating. But I understand that the sponsors pay the cost to be the boss. If a sponsor (or the mod who has been approved by the sponsor) decides your post or thread should go, then it goes.

I'm sorry but Sponsors should not be above the members or given any extra special treatment. They pay for the privilege to Advertise, and they make out very well for their investment I'm sure. There is no need to cater to sponsors...without the MEMBERS the forum would be nothing but a bunch of ads.

All that being said, this is not the appropriate area for this thread...better suited for the Feedback section.

I'm sure many agree with your populist sentiment, but that's not the way the real world works. The reality is when you have a sponsor(s) subsidizing a free product or service, that sponsor is going to have more clout than those who are using the free product or service.

Money talks. Always has, always will.

This is a subject that all forums suffer from not only this one. I see the same stuff on a Harley Forum & other forums I belong too.

My feelings are forums are for open conversation and ideas to be passed on to other folks and if the idea or products represented is not something a sponsor sells or is available somewhere else so be it. The hole idea again is to help each other out with ideas and tips to make the hobby better for all of us even if not everyone agrees with the topic or idea that's being presented at the time. Sponsors are not above others they are just people and business men using the forum to sell there products, they put there pants on the same way as the rest of us. The Moderators should understand that but that's not always the case. In there defence they are human and have there own thoughts and agendas like everyone one else in the world. Also there are forum rules whether we like all of them or not. Forums are about more than the sponsors and there is a certain element of other products & ideas that should be excepted by all here both forum members, sponsors and Moderators...

Bill G
