GTP 1350 DD coil ?

Has anyone tried the newer Garrett 8.5X11 blunt-nose DD coil on the GTP 1350? That same style coil works very well on my ATPro and I'm wondering if that coil would bring the GTP up a notch performance wise? I'm surprised how deep the GTP hits with the stock elliptical mono coil and just have to wonder if the newer DD would make for an even better all-around coil for the GTP? My ground is pretty hot.
 
I say go for it!:thumbup: I don't use the GTP 1350, but from what I understand it profiles with any search coil. If your ground is hot then I'd definitely get one. Bear in mind that bottle caps ring up as coins when using a double "D" search coil. I'd get one for my GTAx1250, but I already have that 10"x14" Excelerator. It's very light and very deep. Works great. I also use the 6"x8" SEF "Butterfly" search coil from time to time. :wiggle: Best of luck to ya!:biggrin:Happy Hunting!:)
 
Why do bottle caps ID as coins with a DD coil? They don't with a mono? My ATP with DD coil IDs bottle caps in Pro Mode with multi- tones. But you're right, the main tone is like a coin. I guess the GTP would not do that and one would have to dig Bottle caps then. Oh well, I guess the benefits of the DD coil make up for that.
