GTI2500 & beech hunting 1st time

AJD

New member
I am going to salt water beech hunt for the first time this next fall, I am using a GTI 2500. What do I need to know and what tools do I need to use to have the best chance for success? I live in the middle of the Rocky mountains, so things will be a little different I know.

Hello AJD and Happy New Year:

I have just started at the beach here in Gulf Shores AL. and my friend has let me use a great tool for digging in the sand. Its a store bought digger with what looks like hardware cloth as the sifter. As he is not here any more, I looked on line and they are kind of high priced. did find a guy who built one and its been working for some time...going to make one myself,.. I also use a cat box sifter shovel type but it is limited as to size of the hole. I did try just using my hand but after finding some very rusty wire a few times I quit that. Also just got an old kitchen pasta strainer at the local yard sale. Hope to try it the weekend. My friend also let me use one of his pointers and that made a big difference in time. so just ordered one from the inter net. hope it gets here soon.. .............................Good luck Dan'l
