gti1500 in salt water

I would like to use my gti1500 in the salt water, I don't know if this is a good idea or not.if somebody is using there's what precautions do you use.

I had one and even getting near salt water in salt mode, it was wacked! It is not a good choice, unless you back off on the sensitivty or stay in the dry sand. I got rid of it, as I am strictly in the water and very rarely wet sand. GH
