gti1500 and 8.5x11dd coil question

Recently got another 1500 (got outta detecting for a few years) with the standard 9.5" coil but have always wondered if I should get a dd coil as well. Its my understanding that the dd is great for "getting deeper in heavy mineralized" soil.

Here's the thing. I can run my sensitivity up around 9-10 in my area without much falsing. Would I really benefit much as far as getting more depth from a dd coil? Thanks

I got the Ace 350 with the dd's, the larger coil and the small coil.
The double d's take some getting used to and to tell you the truth
I think I would have been happier with the standard coils, especially
being used to them. It is so much easier to pinpoint with a round coil
than with a double d. I haven't noticed a increased potential for dealing
with ground mineralization. The smaller coil helps some what with trashy
areas, but I've been told that the round sniper coils are excellent in such
conditions. You loose depth with a sniper coil. I dug a hole 9 to 10 inches
the other day and found two pipes I covered them back up I didn't think it
was a wise pursuit.

I see no advantage of switching to a "DD" coil in your area. You lose your imaging feature with it and "DD"'s really like bottle caps and don't ID them as such.
