GTI Imaging.....

Certainly not a fixed science but....get a high coin hit and image it and it comes in a D and after playing with the signal do see it covers a lot of area. So indeed a time saver for deep hits..Got a deep hit in the high pulltab range and it came in a B, sure enough it was a coin size token..Get those hits below nickel that image a A and you will find a small piece of foil..Certainly cuts down the odds..and makes one more efficient...

Yes Dan, there is a lot to be said about the imaging.
It gives you quite a bit of info to make a decision to dig or not.
I think it takes a while for someone new to digest all the info before digging, and understanding what it is trying to tell you.
However, once you get to know it well, it is much quicker to understand, a Great tool you do not have with other units.

...most anyone who has used it a lot will tell you that imaging can be unreliable beyond 6 or 8 inches. I love the feature personally, but I feel one needs to know its limitations before passing on some targets. Beyond a 6" depth reading, I dig every target reading A, B, or C. I've probably gotten as many coins showing as A as I have showing as B at 6+ inches. Found one really nice old 'pocket spill' showing C at 8 inches.

Imaging also depends on ground conditions whereas it will image correctly deeper in some areas and not in others. 6-8 inches is a good all around gauge for imaging.

Heres my feeling will imaging catch a coin at 8 inches with a B image( usually not)...but it surely will hit that can or large object with a D or E and have you move on.Heck Garrett will tell you after 6 inches it don't work well on coins and repeats it in the manual. Not a fixed science but surely a help..
