GTI Gurus...I need your help

I just received my GTI 2500 yesterday. I got a chance to play around with it for a couple of hours today and It's quite a bit different then the ACE 250 but I like what it does so far. Anybody got some tips about this machine they care to offer up? I've been metal detecting for about 6 years now and have owned the ACE 250 and Whites MXT. I got a good deal on the 2500 ($730 shipped). I've heard the machine hunts deepest in all metal. What do you all do? I tried all metal for about 5 minutes and just about went crazy trying to decipher all the tones. Also what sensitivity do you recommend? I know it has to do with the soil, Etc but I was running mine today about 90%. Any tips would be greatly appreciated...

Great Machine. What I would do is reset the machine by holding down the the on button for five seconds. To start with I would use the factory settings. You could turn the volume down a little and maybe turn the threshold down to where you just about hear it or not at all . Threshold does not effect the machine while detecting. Leave the sensitivity at factory settings and run jewelry mode. Thats all you have to do. If you run in all metal are you planning on digging all targets. All metal mode also has no BAJING when you hit a coin.I use all metal mode when I hit a target in jewelry mode and then its gone. Hit all metal dig the target and then go back to last mode, start again. The machine is what it is and nothing you do will make it go much deeper except a bigger head . Happy hunting ,you just need a little confidence in your machine and a little practice. If you used a 250 you will make the change with no problem.

Drop your sensitivity down to 6 or 6.5 and leave it there until you have familiarized yourself with the machine. GTI's are not like other machines and are a breed all their own. If you try to hunt with it like you did with other detectors you'll run into problems. Centering your target correctly is absolutely critical on this machine for accurate readings and performance. You can't get sloppy with it like you can with other detectors. Stick with Fast Track until you have used the 2500 for awhile. You can run threshold silent or at a slight hum. All it does is establish the audio for pinpoint and all metal. Keep the coil off the ground about an inch. To eliminate possible falseing run the cable straight up the shaft about a foot and tape it or tie it down. GTI's are ultra-sensitive as you will soon learn.
