The GTI 2500 was my first detector and the system it uses actually made learning very easy. With the icon's on the display a person had a very good indication of what was under the coil without having to memorize VDI's.
I still have and use the 2500 from time to time.
It works well and the imaging and the all metal mode are hard to beat.

Is the one with treasure talk any good?

My first one had treasure talk and I turned it off. I found it a distraction.

Guy wants to trade me one with white coil with treasure talk and a deep seeker coil

That sounds like it might be one of the first ones out. There was a mod to help with mineralization it may not have. You can call Garrett's with the serial number to find out.
