just got a gti 2500, looking to use it for the first time soon !! looks like a great machine .. ??? i live in south Texas..

I love mine. It's the only machine out there that can tell you the size of the object. It does have a bit of a learning curve.

John

well thats it i did not take the time to learn ..and the sizeing is great the 9.5 coil did well in trash ..just not much talk about them

You might try checking craigslist from time to time.I have seen some older garrett detectors up for grabs.Good luck.HH

They are still used, but Garrett is not really advertising them like they used to, and many a new detector from Garrett and other companies have come out over the years. They are still capable of running with the other top of the line metal detectors though.

There used to be a member that used the 2500 exclusively for quite a few years and pulled some nice finds, but he has not been on the forums in many a moon.

thanks for the replys iam thinking i might buy a new one ..for a later model on ebay is going for 700s so wy not just get a new one for 900

I have a GTI 1500 that I have used for a lot of yrs. It's a great detector and has found me lots of stuff. The only draw back, is the weight. As I got older, it was harder to swing for any length of time, even wearing battery pack on my belt. That being said though, I'm sure you will love the 2500.

I haven't used mine near as much since I got the At/Pro, but plan on taking it and the sniper coil and the 5 X 10 DD coil to a spot I've had permission to hunt and haven't hunted there much. The last time I went to this spot, somebody had tore it up metal detecting and left lots of holes. I'm taking the At/Pro because I may put on my chest waders, even tho we just got 4.1 inches of rain in the last 24 hours.
The water is too deep except two spots for the chest waders and I hope when I get my wetsuit I can hit the deeper spots. I love my GTI-2500 and hope to use it more this year than last year. Hope you find a new one and like it as much as I like mine. It had a learning curve for me because it's the first detector I ever used, and I hope to find something special tomorrow. GL & HH.
With all the rain that's fallen, the soil is soaking wet and will be very conductive and maybe those night hawks left something for me.

I can't understand the readings of the eagle eye. Really hard to know if the area is postive or negative, the sound is just from loud to soft or vice versa and marked from iron to gold. There is no information which reading is positive.I reread the eagle eye manual many times having all metal mode, and if it's in a larger volume, gonna put a market.

I hope someone out there can help me this. Thank u.
