I have an explorer II, GTI 2500 and an AT Pro.
I am still trying to learn the explorer, but, as of this day the AT Pro is my go to machine. Heres why
On several occasions, I have selected an area (playground) and hunted it with the GTI 2500. When I was satisfied that the area was cleaned out, I took the AT Pro and hunted. The AT Pro found almost the same amount of coins that the GTI 2500 had found. To say the least I was in awe at the AT Pro.
Next time I had a found a good spot (in a yard house built in the late 60's) I was hunting with the AT Pro. The yard was small about 25 feet by 20 feet. I searched the yard until I was sure it was cleared out. According to my journal, I picked up 29 clads 4 wheaties and a couple of pieces of metallic shapes. This took all morning, so I ate dinner and hit the same area with my 2500. After searching for 2 hours, I picked up a single corroded lincoln. I searched the yard again the next day with the explorer and it was clean.
I am not knocking the explorer II, as I stated earlier, I have a lot to learn with it. The AT Pro has a very shallow learning curve, so I'm sure this accounts for my findings, and I also believe in the right hands the Explorer II will hunt deeper. but I don't think it will hunt faster.
I am retired, and I hunt at least 4 days a week (unless its to hot, then I only hunt late evenings), I really believe that there is not anything that I would pass over and not dig with the AT Pro, that I would find it with my GTO 2500.
(maybe the 2500 needs an upgrade)
