GTI 2500 Problem

New member
Hi folks I have been reading this forum for several weeks but this is my first post. The information here has been great and I hope to add to it in time but at present I have a problem maybe someone here has had and knows the solution to it. My 2500 pinpoint button about half the time when you push it and go over the target will work perfect and give you a nice background sound increasing and so on but about half the time now it has developed this dead button. It will go completely dead when you push it and when you sweep over things nothing happens no background or nothing then you release it and re push it it works correctly. I have been working it about a year and a half and this has just started in the past month or so. Any ideas greatly appreciated, I hate to send it away again if I dont have to.
Thanks

Sounds like a switch problem. Contact Mary Penson at maryp@garrett.com and she will resolve it for you.

Thanks Uncle Willy, I did that and I think we got an answer, haven't had a chance to try yet. Mary said to reset the computer and it should fix it, Im sure it will of all the times I have talked to that lady she has batted 100%.
Thanks

I was going to mention rebooting but assumed you already tried that. Just hold the power button down for 10-15 seconds until the detector beeps twice and it's rebooted. Like all computers these machines get a glitch once in awhile and need to be rebooted to wake them up.

Dont know why I didnt try that I usually reset the thing ever few days just to make sure everything is working correct but just spaced it. Yes the Lady is wonderful, don't know what any of us would do without her.
