I met my buddy Scott at a high school this morning. Hunted for a couple of hours. Went to work, then got sent home because I was double booked. So, in a mood of frustration, I took the GTI 2500 out to some schools in my neighborhood and added more coins to my pile.

I got me an Aussie 1966 One cent. A cool looking coin too! Also got a small derringer, that doubles into a knife. :surrender:

Johno. Nice hunt. 1966 was the first year of decimal currency over here. The 1c and 2c pieces are not legal tender over here any more. I quite often dig them and they annoy me as I probably spend more than 1c in battery power to dig them up, ha ha. I have about 6 pounds of 1 and 2 cent bits that I need to clean and can hand in to the bank for reimbursment. I will get around to it one day.

Chris.

Nice haul John.

That's a way cool find for Canada John.
The animal on the back of the coin is a Feather Tailed Glider, often known as a Sugar Glider. They are a smallish possum like animal that live in trees. They have webbing down their sides between legs which allows them to glide from one tree to another without needing to climb down to the ground. If you ever you see video footage of them flying, in slow motion, they look quite spectacular.
Something that may be of interest for you over on the X-Terra forum. On the first page, Nugget71 who lives in our northern state of Queensland, has just found a Canadian 24 carrot $10 gold coin on a necklace at a beach up there.
Congrats on finding a foreign coin.
Mick Evans.

Humongous Heap of Heavy Haul there, John.
