GTI 2500 Discrmination Modes

Hello all, I've had this detector for a couple weeks now and I'm getting the hours put in. I've been working in custom mode but I've noticed that I've basically reduced the discrimination down to dimes and above. Everything else has been eliminated. I cant' help but think I'm missing rings and other jewelry. Just curious as to which discrimination mode you normally operate in? Has you ever found jewelry when using only the "coin" end notches. Where do the different classes of gold fall on the ID bar? I know I'm asking lots of questions but I'm determined to find rings so I'm calling upon all of my fellow FindMall hunter's experiences. Any additional advice is greatly appreciated?

You will be getting most of the silver jewellery but losing most of your gold. Depending on its size & K, gold will read around the pull tab mark. To help with good targets, dig targets with a smooth signal, not broken up, when running the coil north, south, east & west over the target. You need to put in many more hours to help get more good finds. It's not just a science, it's an art too.

Good luck and keep plugging (literally) along.

Gold jewelry can fall on the meter from low foil to high penny.....with foil being the hotspot as it contains thin gold womens rings many with large stones( approx. 35-40 percent of gold rings lost)
UNFORTUNATELY.....so does a lot of junk so eliminate these segments and you eliminate gold rings.....to cut down on the digging and give yourself a chance to find a gold ring would accept the nickle segment and two segments below along with dime and above...

Jewelry mode is best for coins/jewlelry.
