GTI 2500 Bi-Level audio...

hi,

i have the 2500 and i can discern no effect from the Bi-Level audio function. i bench tested it on with a 1983 penny (all Cu), a perrier screw cap, a 1964 all silver quarter, and a iron skillet. i could not discern a difference in pitch using these test targets. i am not tone deaf.

i tested these targets with Bi-Level turned on with Belltone turned both on and off. and no change in pitch because of target conductance was observed. although when high conductance targets were tested i quit getting chimes with the Belltone turned off.

can anyone offer advice on how i can observe the Bi-Level feature in action or is just on the menu as a place-holder until Garrett can implement it?

thank you,

-zander

With the Bi-level on set the detector to relic mode. you will hear a flat sound when you hit iron targets, sometimes. The other thing is you will here that same sound when you hit a nickel or cheap jewelry. It won't be a constant sound with nickel or cheap jewelry but it gives you a idea that it may be,specially if it reads coin size. I think BI level only works on relics and above ,not coin or jewelry settings.I'm using this more because I'm finding more nickels this way.High trash areas I search in coin mode wooded areas I search in relics mode but am flexible.Good luck.
