GTI 2500 and AT Pro users

For you guys that have both machines or have used both machines. Would you add the new 8.5 x 11 DD coil to your 2500 or leave it as is and add an AT Pro? I would like to increase the performance of the 2500 on the beach while on vacation for my son to use. I know the DD coil will increase the depth capabilities of the 2500 and help it to run more stable but would like to hear your opinions.

I have used a 2500 for over 10 years and have dug coins at 8 to 10 inches with the 2500 on dry land. On the beach the 2500 is pitiful to say the least. I know the At Pro will walk circles around the 2500 on the beach plus the water proof ability, but would the DD coil give the 2500 a measurable close comparison on depth?

Thanks

I also would like to purchuse the 8.5x11 DDcoil for my gti2500 to use on the wet sand at the beach here in San Diego, 2500 works great on the dry sand but struggles in the wet, too much falseing. have
heard that it gets better depth with the 8.5x11 DD and better seperation on targets. dont have the AT PRO to answer some of your question sorry... would like to hear from someone who has and uses
the 8.5x11 DD coil on the 2500 at the beach to hear how it performs in the wet sand at he beach

I'll be honest with you, I bought the AT-Pro for the exact reasons you brought up. I was thinking about the new coil for my 2500. Then I figured for a few hundred more I could get a new machine. I was interested in a machine with a higher frequency. Also waterproof or water resistant. I also think imaging is the one feature on the 2500 that makes it such a great machine. I couldn't justify buying a coil that doesn't use it. Add an AT-Pro. My two cents and after only two hunts with it.

I have been told the 8.5 x 11 coil turns the 2500 into a whole different machine, but I just don't know how well it would do on the beach. The imaging of the 2500 is what sets it apart from a lot of other machines, it just can not perform very well on wet salt water beaches.

:laugh:I've been planning on gettin' that new(er) 8.5"x11" DD for my GTI 2500, but I've been so busy playin' with my AT Pro that I just haven't gotten around to it.
That AT Pro just ROCKS on the beach!:super: Especially in areas that are littered with a bunch of iron junk! I use the Infinium in wet sand and surf, but switch to the AT Pro in the dry sand and even some wet.:detecting: I use to use my GTI 2500 up in the dry sand, but that AT Pro has just impressed the heck outta me!:wiggle:
Not to dis the GTI 2500 too much, it's an incredible creation and certainly has it's place, but if I were you I'd definitely get that AT Pro if at all possible.
Hopefully Alan will chime in before too long. He uses both machines.
Best of luck to you! Happy Hunting!:)
