GTI 2500 ALL METAL STABILITY

I have been using a Garrett GTI 2500 for quite awhile and hunt, mostly, in
COIN mode. When hunting in all metal mode I have had a problem with
threshold stability. I use to hunt a lot with the older ADS Deepseekers
with the automatic mode which would hold the stability of threshold sound. Does
anyone who uses the 2500 have any good suggestions on how to set my detector
for the best stability in all METAL mode? I must not be setting it right.
I use to love to use the ADS models when hunting fresh water beaches due to
the stable threshold sound which made it easy to hear variations in sound. Otherwise, I
enjoy using it.

There will be no tone variations on modern detectors like the 2500. Threshold is to establish audio volume for pinpoint and all metal only. You can run it at a very slight hum or silent. Your detector will beep or belltone when it encounters a target. Running a loud threshold will mask good targets and cost you those targets and create the instability you speak of.
