Hang in there. The 1500 is a good detector I found alot of goodies with the one I had. When ever you pinpoint watch the top of your screen, When the bar goes all the way to the right hand side of your screen the target will be under the center of your coil.

hey thank you for the reply and i kind of follow thru. with that today but what i can not understand is went say all i have dig 2" down i dig over the center and i don't get recheck it still there dig down about 4" now and it still reads that it in ground im lost

Hey the GTI 1500 is one good coin finding machine. The pinpointing is dead on except on objects close to the surface. Raise your coil and try pinpointing again and if your're in the coin mode watch to see if your coil is seeing something else close to your object. Sometimes it will sound a belltone on the edge of a larger object and not be a coin at all. Practice makes perfect :)

It will also pick up coins on the surface several inches from the edge of the coil. This will fool you if it ever happens.
