Just traded for a gti 1500 with the stock 9.5" coil.
I do a lot of relic hunting & have another detector for that. use to have a gtax 550 for a second detector & i must say, although not that deep it was fun to use
I`ve heard that the 1500 isn`t a very deep seeker but when i airtested it, i was really amazed. with sens set at 10 in the jewelry mode, it would hit a .58 cal minnie at apx 9-10" !! Now i mainly plan to use it mostly for coins but, if it`ll get that depth here in North Ms in out next to no mineralized soil, it may see a fer relic trips
Now i`m curious as to what it might possibly do with the 12 incher on it.

Don't believe the stories about no depth. The 12-incher will give you 2-3 more inches.

I believe the Gti 1500 and the Gtax 1250 share the same depth capabilities. Using the 1250 with a 12" coil, the deepest coin I've found was a Spanish 1/2 reale (paper thin) at a solid 10". I was in jewelry mode with Sen. set at 9. I thought that to be pretty impressive considering the size of the coin. HH Rich
