GTI 1500 not ground balancing

Help cant stand the constant BLAAAAAAAAAAAAAA when the coil is barly touching or 1/2inch above the ground Im on the B.C Washington/ Border I had a 2500 before it never did it and I have a Explorer SE and it dosnt do it either maybe its defective changed batteries checked conections lowered sens. any help appreciated thanks a lot ...........Bill
 
I guess theres something is wrong it wont quit going BLAAAAAA at all, even 3 ft in the air tried re-setting nothing works
 
Did you try resetting the detector to its default setting. Turn it on....then hold the on button for about 20 seconds. The machine will beep twice and then it will be in factory mode. You can now adjust the machine to your preferred settings. If this doesn't correct the machine, try a different coil. Yours might be faulty. Good luck. Quite often the resetting to the default mode corrects it.
 
If it is a white imaging coil it most likely has a crack in the coil. I had one that done the something. I had to replace the coil.
 
Yeah that's the old style coil. It may be bad. Check it closely for hairline cracks. Then contact Mary Penson at Garrett.
