Hi this is my first post,I'm a Garrett user since 1986... My ? Is can I use the new dd coil on my gti 1500 and still use the imaging feature? Or do you loose the imaging? I totally enjoy everyones comments and photos.....

Gti 1500 coils?

You lose the imaging going to a DD ...the only coils that will image are the 9.5" coil and the 12.5" coil. Even the after market coils that kellyco sells do not image.

Glad to see your post . I thought I was the only one thinking about the DD coil on the GTI series . In fact I have just bought a DD coil and put it on my 2500. I've seen air test on the AT Pro, 12 inches on a quarter. My 2500 is now hitting 11 inches plus on a quarter. Other comparison air tests are about the same to the AT pro. Of course you loose the imagining but you keep all the other pluses that the 1500 and 2500 offer. The other thing is the 2500 is much lighter. Very good separation on coin and iron nail.

No imaging on any coil not designed for it, including the DD.The imaging feature is in the coil not in the detector.

Yeah the DD turns your detector into a whole other machine.

Maybe Garrett can also engineer this coil for imaging.
