GTAx 550

Just traded for a GTAx 550, first Garrett for me. Are they any good? A friend said they were a toy. What do they compare to?
Thanks Gene

I used the Garrett 500 which the 550 is a updated version. You will like this "Toy" It finds coins and rings and decent depths and is real easy to use. The deepest coin I found with mine was a dime at 8-9" down. My 500 paid for itself the first summer I used it. I've never used anything but a Garrett so I really wouldnt know what to compare it with but it is a great machine. Have fun with it.

If a toy a very nice toy..Excellent ID, notch capabilities in price range not much to compare to..Not the deepest on the block , but they do like gold jewelry and very accurate on coins....

Your friend has been smoking the wrong stuff. They are far from a toy. Check out my field test at.
