GTAx 550 problem

Hello,
My name is Eldoc and I live in Europe (The Netherlands). This is my first posting in this forum and hopefully not the last one :)
Recently I bought a GTAx 550 (approx. one year old) It worked fine untill last week. During hunting the machine suddenly stalls (touchpads don't work anymore and the unit makes a lot of noise). Replacing the batteries didn't work either. I also checked the prints and it's connectors for moisture etc., but they were perfectly dry and not corroded. Have some of you an idea what the reason could of me weird problem?

Email Mary Penson at Garrett and she will resolve your problem.

Sounds like the coil went bad!! Disconnect coil and turn on machine. If it is quiet again, it's the coil. If you have to get a new one, the 7 x 10 is a much better coil.

Mary is probably the best solution. I have heard of similiar problems when the faces moves a hair and buttons do not line up..Have seen several fixed by re-aligning the front of the screen.

Thanks for the information so far! First I shall contact the Dutch importer. I think the faces are the cause of the problem. I'll keep you informed.

The 550 is working again <img src="/metal/html/glasses.gif" border=0 width=15 height=15 alt=":geek:"> . The display caused the problem.
