GTAX 1250 Good unit or not?

New member
I just had this given to me, Can anyone tell me if it is a good unit?
It's new, Still in the box, with two coils.
Should I use it or trade it for a better unit while it's still new?
Thanks for your help William

Don't trade it. You ain't going to get much better. It's a great machine. The 1250/1350/1500 are all the same machine except for imaging and profiling.

Te 1250 was my first detector and still a favorite. Keep it and get out and have some fun!! Could you introduce me to your friend?? I could use another detector!!

so sell it to me very cheap !
I wish i had a new in the box GTAx 1250. I liked the 1250 better than the newer GTP1350.

If you don't plan using it make me an offer.

Andy,NM

I have been using the 1250 for a little over a year
and yes it is a good one. It's easy to use, stable,
accurate on target I.D. and pinpointing. The target
response and separation of targets is very good.
Fast recovery speed from target to target too.
Depth I would say is as good as anything in it's
class. Also does excellent on low conductivity
targets and very small ones at that. Pretty much
saying what everyone else here has said but I
thought I would just throw in my 2 cents worth.
Best of luck with it, it will get the job done !

Wish I had mine again. I traded it to a friend - he got the better deal. I loved it and was excellent though a little heavy. I replaced it with the ACE 250 and can tell you I'd rather have the 1250 back because it has more notches to work with compared to the 250.

If you want to sell it let me know the price you are asking.

not sure whether to keep it or sell it. I didn't get a coil cover with it and I don't want to scuff the 7x10 up. I have since picked up the sniper coil for it. I've checked around and don't want to pay $20 delivered for the coil cover...(especially when I only paid $30 for the used sniper coil w/ cover)...so I'll run the sniper coil if and when I decide whether or not to use it or sell/trade it. It also came with the 5 year warranty since it was NIB. I opened the box a week ago and put it together and it's just sitting here until I decide what to do. I bought a new ace 250 for my boy a few eeeks ago and then stumbled on the gtax 1250 new in box and just couldn't pass it up. It looks like a sweet machine.
