GTAx-1250, finds two pieces of silver at pounded site

I went to a local lake today with my 1250. This place has been hunted hard over the years by a few detectorists including myself. I put my 1250 in relic mode had the sensitivity up to 10+ with no falsing But I was finding lots of junk. I hesitantly switched to coins mode. When i cut the plug for a nice belltone in coins mode I was shocked to see two silver dimes looking out at me, It was a photo opportunity!
I love the pics I see of finds that where photoed before they where pulled from the hole. You got to love the site of a reeded silver coin showing on the side of a hole. The funny thing is after running the 1250, in relic mode for a couple of hours i got tired of all the pull tabs, So I decided for the last 1/2 hour I will operate in coins mode. And the first finds where the 1953 Roosevelt dime and 1944 Mercury dime in the same hole. I spent a few hours digging everything that beeps to avoid missing deep silver, I found two junk rings in the relic mode And found allot of tabs more than in the pics. And what do you know my first swing in coins mode turned up these to coins at 4+ inches. How did we miss them? Well I guess this site still has some goodies left.

Thanks for looking
Jason

Very nice finds, Jason; and you're so right about how neat a silver coin looks, compared to common clad.

And even if you didn't find anything, I'm sure you enjoyed the nice fall setting at the lakeside.
