GTAX 1000... Worth a DD coil or not?

Hi all. I have a Garrett Ultra GTA 1000. It has a crossfire 8" coil. I'm considering a Garrett DD power coil for it. Does anyone know for sure if this coil will help me much? Is it really worth the price? Is it much better than the crossfire coil? Thanks!

I'm not just real sure they even made a DD for the 1000. If you are looking at the 10 x 14 DD they are only made for the GTAx and GTI series, not the GTA.

Mines a GTAx 1000. I called Garrett, they said it would work, I forgot to ask if it would work great, and hate to bug them again. Kinda feel guilty buggin them about an item they arent selling. Even if I DID just buy a crossfire coil from them last week.

The 1000 if it is the PM model will hold its own with any current model. The DD is a specialized coil for specialized hunting. It doesn't automatically make any detector better. It is designed for highly mineralized ground. If your ground is not like that then any standard large coil will serve the same purpose.

Whoops, my fault. Its a GTA 1000, NOT a GTAX 1000. But Garrett did say it would work.
