i have a buddy that runs a GT with 15" WOT..i ran into him today on the beach,he can only run his sensitivity @ 3 O'Clock.which is almost off .he does quite well with it..i have a GT with a Sun Ray S12 and i can run my sensitivity @ 9 O'Clock ,which is almost all the way up.this is on the same beach.iv owned both coils and like the S12 better...but i don't understand the big diff in settings???? any ideas?

Maybe the machines are internally set differently, but drastically.

One test you can try, is trade coils for a while, and see if the sensitivety settings need to be the same. If not, then then there is something else. But then again, if everything is okay, leave as is.

So there might be a particular 'coil to machine' match-up.

I have both the WOT and the S-12 and have had a few of both with different results. When companies/people manufacture coils, the repeatability of the processes aren't always ideal. Consequently some coils operate slightly better than others. I run both my WOT and my S-12 at 10-11:00. Some of my coils along the way were struggling at 3:00 at the same locations.
