GT series battery question

I do not want to needlessly waste my batteries. I headed deeper into the woods yesterday and turned around bacause I had been on two bars
for what seemed awhile. Can I get some feedback on how long you can
normally hunt when you hit two bars on alkalines? The manual's say
replace at one but do you still have any time left when you hit one bar? Doe the bat meter meter blink or anything when you are going DEAD.

You'll have a few hours left on one bar. When the battery starts to go your detector will become unstable and erratic.

Bill[/quote]That was going to be my answer too.

Yeah the rechargeables I use in my 250 last forever - about three to four times longer than alkalines. I picked up another charger for my big Garretts. Saves a bundle.
