Thought you might like to see my effort, made the straight shaft from 7/8 alu tube, 22mm plumbing "T" and the rest is gt bits.
I used the toggle switches from the unit, as i was having trouble finding new ones, i've not tested it yet but it all works in the garden, hope the pics come out alright, i have a few more bits to do to finish, tidy cables, find small plugs for switch holes ect.
