GT QUESTION

You can't use a mono coil on a Sov.Transmit and recieve are continuous so there has to be two coils of wire in the coil.
The GT comes with a pistol grip shaft like is used on the GP series detectors.

any suggestions about adding a meter?
Or is it a waste of my money?

On the beach it is pretty much a waste of money, and something else to get dirt and water in. You will be digging just about everything but iron and beer cans, so you don't need one.

For dirt hunting, a meter is very useful. It really helps you keep from digging massive amounts of trash in hard dirt. You can be as selective as you want.
