My 157DayGold Dry Spell Broke Today with this soccer field find 14K 6 Diamonds 14.6 grams man's ring. I hunt mostly Beach and shallow water. But have been trying to get the hang of my New Sovereign GT. Today I wandered to the soccer field I have hunted on occasion. The amount of trash is amazing so I started to dig numbers on the meter that have come to be a coin.The first hr produce several pennies and a couple of clad dimes and quarters and trash. I really wanted to get the pin pointing down with the 10 inch coil. I moved to the other side and started towards the sideline of the older field. I passed up several targets that just were too scratchy and were low foil numbers. About 6 feet from the corner I got a solid 177 on the meter today that was coming up penny. This was the first target I dug since moving. I cut the flap and pull back the grass the target was still in the hole. I dug it up a little and pull a hang full of dirt out. I checked the hole with the pin pointer, nothing? Dug some more nothing checked again nothing. Looked at the little pile of dirt and then saw the ring sticking out. I push the pin pointer at it and there she was. Check out the pictures. It was worth the wait. I am stoked. Oh ya I dug every signal in a 40 foot area. Nice hit. Way to change things up and get into the dirt. Matt and I hit the beach Sunday and did pretty good. Maybe I gotta head to a few soccer fields near by and save some gas !

That's a lunker! Did you weigh it to see what the scrap value is? And that scrap dealer who only skims 2% off the top of the market price on gold also buys diamonds and other stones. ARR or something they are called. Not Midwest, who isn't as good. I sent them a ring a while back and it was within $3 of what I thought it would be.

Question- I keep hearing of ring finds in soccer fields...Are you in the US? I get the feeling that much of the soccer field finds are from over seas where more adults play it? I've never really tried hunting soccer fields because I always thought it was kids playing? One of my favorites is volley ball courts with baseball fields being a close second.
 
Critterhunter and everyone else. I took it to two jewelers to get it looked at. Its14.6 grams 9.3dwt the first said he would give me scrap 500 and 300 for the diamonds. The second guy said there real and they very nice start bragging it was quality old workmanship platinum setting. it scraps for 35 X 9.3 = 325.50 he would give me 500
I kept telling him no Its not for sale.I told him, I have been hunting for 38 yrs and I find rings and gold all the time, I never found anything this nice. I don't need the money and it fits. I just need it for bragging, finally! I thank him and he said I'll give 1000 for it. Before I left I ask if he had 2.50 dollar gold piece rings he had one for 1129 he said I'll just swap rings. I said no, he said ok I went to leave he said You can have the ring you looked at and 1000 I am going to have it appraised by my jeweler tomorrow. I will post the results soon
Now for the soccer field I took it as the area to hunt would be the sidelines where mom and dad jump around so I hunted the sideline.
I found it on the goal line 5 ft behind 3 ft out from the sideline. I have been asked about the 177 reading and my answer is how many rings have you found like this ?????????? me either they come in at 177 very high sound even tried it with the Excalibur not what I would have expected. CJC says in his books gold is higher than you think. I find that only bands and thinner rings come in low and growling
