gt face plate cleaning tip

bootyhoundpa

Well-known member
just wanted to pass this on..... i do a lot of field hunting with the gt ...consequently dirty hands equalls dirty face plate.... i found that using q-tips and a very small amount of shaving cream does a very good job without risking getting the control box wet.....for best results dip the q-tip into the shaving cream...do not spray shaving cream onto control box.....a very little bit goes a very long way....

Thanks for the tip! - Jim

Thanks for the tip, there are some yellow towels to clean the dry dirt as well, they atract all the dirt and won't smear it all over.

Good idea , what i use is a moist baby wipe not a whole lot of liquid in it drys very fast also 50 in a pack for 5.99 good enough for a babys butt good enough for my GT .

I hunt the beaches a lot, when finished detecting before putting the detector away I use a two inch paint brush to brush the sand etc. from the face plate. Works for me, GH Don

Would any of you be interested in a spare Sovereign GT faceplate? I came across this awhile ago and it looks like I won't be using it anytime soon. I wouldn't know what price to put on it. It works and has the ribbon connector to the main circuit board. Possibly a perfect replacement for those here that need one. Especially those who had warranty ran out.
