Gt coil feedback

New member
I have a GT and just moved to Florida. I hear different stories on a larger coil. The SEF or the 15" wot coiltek. Is there a larger mono coil? The reason I ask is that I heard that the mono coil the same size as a dd coil is deeper but not as stable. I am going to hunt the beaches. Any feedback would be appreciated. Jack

Jack the only mono coil Ive ever seen for a sovereign is the one made by excellerator, I think it was 8" size.

As far as which larger coil the WOT is a good choice but I never used the 12X15 on a Sov so cant comment on that.

The risk of running a big coil is masking. You need to recon the area you intend to hunt. If there isn't much junk then you can kick it up to a bigger coil. Some big coils lose their sensitivity to small items. But the big coils for the Sovereign have all been put through their paces so it is just a matter of picking one. Everyone has their favorite. The Sef or WOT coils have been talked about in here a lot.
