GT cable shortening

xwyokid

Well-known member
I would like to shorten the cable on my GT and I don't have the tools or knowledge to do it. Nor would I want to try it. Any idea what kind of shop I could go to and get it done?

John,I can shorten your coil cord in a couple of minutes. If you want it shorten will do it at no cost.Though, with any of the coil cords shorten you will hurt the resale value.Good Luck Ron

Also, for anybody who doesn't know how to solder but doesn't want to ship the coil somewhere to get it done, often RC hobby shops will do solder work on stuff for dirt cheap. I solder myself, but when shopping for parts to build my RC electric planes I've seen people bring all kinds of non-RC related stuff in to have a wire fixed or soldered. The right RC hobby shops will fix stuff a lot cheaper than you can get it done elsewhere, so long as it's something like a simple soldering job or cable shortening. They've got all the heat shrink tubing and such to do the job right too, because in RC you either solder or sink.

Thanks for the offer Ron and the advise Critterhunter. I think maybe I'll just stay with what I've got.

I have a 10" Tornado on ebay with a shortened cable, not sure if it will sell.
