GT Battery Pack Question?

Ron from Michigan

Anyone have a rechargeable battery for a GT rebuilt by one of these battery stores. Results performance wise? and cost? I know a lot of people have had their early Sovereign models and Excalibur's rebuilt with good results at some of these places. Thanks Ron

Good question Ron. I hope someone pipes up with a source. Wouldn't mind having it done. John.

John,I had a drill battery pack rebuilt and noticed the batteries are the same used in the Sovereign pack.I did notice after the rebuilt that the battery had almost twice the life of the new original pack before a charge was needed. One problem you would have just this core pack to work with and would have to wait until the rebuilt was done instead of a quick store exchange. Thanks Ron

Ron I emailed one of the companies on it a year or so ago, I think it was battery plus? They are one of the ones you see on ebay, they make them now for the Sov XS with the plug in connector.....I forget what the cost was but they said no problem. You just have to mail them your sov gt battery. Its good to see they are making them for the older sovs also.
If you look into it further, see if they can put sanyo eneloops or similiar into it. I bought some of those in AA size and they loose next to nothing while in storage. I use them in my Etrac and also some other devices. Really great batteries.

Ron. There is a company that makes replacement packs for the Excal and the Sovereign XS. I have considered getting a charger from them for the Excal.

They are www.onlybatterypacks.com. They might rebuild worn out Sovereign GT packs. Hopefully mine will last another year or two before I have to do something. However I do not want to wait till Minelab decides to quit making batteries for the GT.

George the company I think you mentioned sold me a battery for a Excalibur. They did an excellent job,the battery was inexpensive and worked better than the original. Thanks Ron
