GT and Gray Ghost Headphones

MaineDigger

New member
I added a GT to the family last week for the beach, and so far I've been having a blasty with it. The only phones I've used have been the Gray Ghost N.D.T. and was wondering if they are or are not recommended for use with the GT.

I've noticed that at times, when I turn the volume down, the volume actually increases (or so it seems) and vice versa. Is that the limiter build into the headphones going to work?

Any help or tips are appreciated.

Thanks!
Steve

Steve,

The Gray Ghost will work fine on the GT, used to use them on my XS when I had it until I went to the Timberwolfs for the volume I need. One thing to remember with the GT or any Sovereign is the volume control on the detector is for target volume and not the threshold volume, so when you turn it down the threshold may start getting louder, but if you were waving the coil over a coin or smaller target you will see the target volume decrease as you turn down the volume. This is why it is recommended to run volume at max on the detector and have a set of headphones that have a volume control you can adjust to your comfort.
With the GT the limiter should work with no problem on the Gray Ghost NDT.
Good luck with the GT and I am sure you will love it once you have learned it.
