Ground tracking and emi problems

Hello, I was curious if the new MX sport has an automatic ground balance/ground tracking system that will allow it to run a lot more stable than detectors without such a feature...I have had a lot of what I think are either emi problems or ground balance issues (extremely chatty machine) in my area with my G2, do you think the features on the MX sport will allow it to run more stable? I know that minelab has a noise cancel feature and they claim their detectors will keep quiet and stable in different types of ground and also deal with Emi? Anybody have any information in these areas? Thanks

Yes, it has automatic ground tracking. it works well. It also seems to be less sensitive to EMI than many other detectors.

It has ground tracking which, AFAIK, is the same as that found on the MXT.. which is possibly about the best there is. Have had no problems hunting at max sensitivity in town, for what it's worth, though have yet to hunt right under power-lines.

The reason I'm asking is because I'm trying to compare the mx sport to the Minelab Safari. The noise cancel feature is appealing, do you think a detector needs this feature? I could save about 250 bucks if not .Also if I decide to go with the MX sport , Do you guys think I'm rolling the dice purchasing the unit now? Or do you think I should wait until 2017?

Based on my new MX Sport with a build date after they restarted production a few weeks ago I think you will be fine. I found no screen crack, tone smear, pinpoint or audio modulation issues with mine.

"The MX Sport is WAY MORE detector than the Safari!" (it's a no-brainer - get an MXS)

The G2 (and other Tek machines) appear to be overly chatty anyway! So your issue is probably more EMI related than bad soil.

I used mine today right under power lines that drive my other detector crazy. Worked fine and no emi chatter.

I agree with Des, The Tracking on Whites machines is so fast that in most Grounds it will ground balance within 1 to 2 pumps of the Coil, I have used the MXT from the Blood Red Dirt of Australia to the Black Mud in the North of the UK,,

It will even Ground Balance out Fridge Magnets so Hot Rocks won't be a problems, and the Recovery Speed of the MXT and the MX-Sport is more than fast enough to deal with what ever comes along. And with the new up grades the MX-Sport has being having it is becoming a Sweet little Package indeed.
