Well,
Last year was the first with no Large Cents found; this year no Large Cents and no seated either.
Memories of the good days:
2004 seated minus one half dime.

2003's finds

And perhaps lowest coin counts only 70 some silver and 50-60 IHs.
But I did find a few key dates this year.
1892-O Barber Half found at old cabin site.

1922 Plain die set two wheatie. Found while detecting with James(ND). He is young enough to not be in the needing-reading-glasses-set and ID'ed first.

1908-S Indian head. I found the 1909-S the year before. That coin completed one page of my IH coin folder. A rare event when all coins are found, not purchased. Wheatie folders are getting close, would have another page done except for three holes for the 1943 steelies. I've found a few in coin spills. Perhaps I can glue a gob of rust in the holes and lie about the mint marks.

And I did finally get over to Rick(ND)'s bar in Chaffee North Dakota and met up with him and James(ND).
Also met up with Mike Moutray and Golddigger this spring for a little digging. Was good to finally have faces to associate with all the postings.
Another highlight was finding a bunch of store tokens for a family that had a store from 1880's through the 1930's: .25, .50, and 1.00 tokens. Don't see those big of denominations often for store tokes. Not sure what that says about that merchant. Hopefully get some pics of them some day.
This is my sixth year with the explorer; 2007 was the first year I tried a different detector- an Fisher F-75. Good detector; but I bought it in hopes that some of the areas I had pounded with the explorer would give up a few more to a new detector, doesn't seem to be the case.
Well, it is starting to snow as I type this.
Small chance we will get a warmer spell that thaws the ground before the end of the year; it's happened before. Otherwise time for some research and permission gaining.
