speaking of different ground conditions for a test. lets get an idea of ground conditions throughout the U.S. for those that have not experienced using there detector everywhere. list the state and conditions. Florida very very mild, little to no mineralization throughout the state basically dry sand. except for the beaches of course, is what i experienced.

Central coast California mild soil no probs
Beaches and black sand areas are tough!

Eastern NC. Here at home, the soil is sandy and mild and I can run the Tejon and the Nautilus hot but just down the road the soil can change every few acres from sand to red or black clay and you have to adjust the balance.

Most places in central Arkansas have mild to moderate soil conditions. There are red clay areas with Iron. There is also places with mineralized rocks and soil, but not much.

Generally mild mineralization, black dirt in the southern part of state but turns to sand as you head furhter north. Northern tier of countys have a lot of iron tainted sand and good amount of hot rocks but conditions are still low to moderate. Tejon handles it with ease.

it's great to find out the different soils and what to expect if you head out to these areas let's keep this going. thanks for the replys
