Ground Ballance V3I

This may be the most stupid Question yet.I have been reading about alot of people having problems ground ballancing the V3I because of total trashed areas,Could a person take a five gallon bucket of clean dirt and gound ballance it with that dirt since the autotrack will take over from there. Thanks

Sure but why? The autotrac will take the V right back to the ground balance in the ground that you are hunting. In very bad ground, try to find a spot clear of trash, GB and lock it.

The bucket of dirt unless it was from the site would not accomplish anything. I got a Fisher CZ and modified IDX bobing is the same. With my IDX and CZ they are only manual balance, period. With the MXT and V3i as Larry stated they will eventually balance themselves.

Even when I lock the tracking I like to let it run in autotrack for a few minutes to get a good average ground to lock to.
