Ground Balancing the F70 - quit the bobbing already!

So I'm in my test garden area practicing with the F70. Begin ground balance procedure. Hold GROUNDGRAB button down and begin bobbing. Number appears.
OK, now what? Keep bobbing? How long should the pumping continue? I'm not sure when the procedure is complete. A couple bobs? An hour and a half? The number seems to settle down to a couple number spread - is that it?

Again, thanks for the replies.

With any detector you want the closest you can get to no ground response. The idea is to cancel ground mineralization. If you lower the coil from 6" toward the ground you should not hear a positive response (or not a significant one) if you move the coil from the ground to 6" you shouldn't hear a negative response.

From the manual:

Positive and Negative Response
The purpose of ground balancing is to adjust the metal
detector to ignore ground minerals. If the setting is
incorrect, ground minerals will give either a positive or a
negative response, depending on which direction the
adjustment is off. If the ground balance setting is not
accurate, repeat the GROUNDGRAB procedure.

A section on manual GB will help you understand:

If the ground balance adjustment is incorrect, there will be a
difference in the sound as the searchcoil is either moving
toward or away from the ground. It sounds like you are
either pulling the sound out of the ground, or pushing the
sound into the ground.

Pump it a few times, lower it to the ground and release the button.
Now check the GB by pushing the pinpoint button and lowering it to the ground.
If the detector remains quiet or has just a slight positive response it is balanced.
