Ground Balancing a Vaquero

I usually do not have problems ground balancing a Vaquero, but I was apparently on very neutral soil. When I turned the ground balance knob in either direction, it had no effect on the sound (all-metal tone used to balance). Is the detector working correctly?

What coil? I used to have the same issue with the 5.75", never noticed with the stock. Try it in another location, can't imagine that it would just up cause you problems for no reason.
