Ground Balanceing the Vaquero & Tejon

DIGITAL DAVE

New member
Hi is there anyone who can make VIDEO and post it on YOUTUBE
showing how to ground balance these 2 machines out in the field
im one of these hands on guys where you could write a million words
and still never get you point over till you showed me what you was
doing going step by step.

I even tried to look for the videos on the Tesoro forum @ www.tesoro.com
and there dang forum server just rejected my ISP which i think is a bunch
of BULL HOCKY and say to contact there web guy.

I need help!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Dave

They need to clean that up. Some of the audio did not come through and the second video for GB'ing outside would be helpful.

why is Tesoro so darn cheap that they can not include a detailed video like the
other manufactors do w/ there machines. Ive even contacted them sever times
and still have not recived one e-mail back from them, if i had a customer who was
having problems w/ some thing id had built you could bet id do everything i could to
keep them happy and go out of my way for them to solve there problems.

Tesoro could make video's about ground balanceing there machines and place them
on youtube like the other companies have done for FREE Geesh what does it take
to make a video about doing this operation.

Dave there is a phone number on the Tesoro website, its under the "contact us" link, pretty much like all websites. If you call during their business hours, keeping in mind they are in Arizona(no idea where you are), someone will answer and answer any questions you have.

Hi Neil i have called them in the past & e-mailed them too and still nobody
can tell me precisely how to ground balance these machines, im one of these
hand on guys you could write a million word article on the subject and still never
get your point over, i take the manual out w/ me each and everytime i try to
ground balance these machines and it follow the instruction in there step by
step and still don't get it when im lowering to coil to the ground, I have no problems
what so ever ground balanceing my other machines, that dang over shoot
that james gifford describes in there video part 1 where he is useing ferrite
to simulate the ground conditions is what i would say is confussing me, both of my
x-terra 50 and 70 i can hear there tones and compaire them as you lower and raise
the coil you don't get that funky over shoot tone which messes me up, Tesoro needs to
take some hints from minelab about building a metal detector that has to be ground
balanced and figure out how to remove that over shoot tone .

Dave

Don't understand the problem. Ground balance is quite simple. :Lower the coil from 8-10 inches straight down towards the ground to an inch or so In all metal, if the threshold tone raises (is positive) when the coil nears the ground, turn the GB knob to the left. If it nulls out and raises when the coil is lifted (it's negative), turn the knob to the right. Think volume knob on a radio if that helps. AND BE SURE TO DO THIS OVER CLEAN!! GROUND. When set, the threshold should either show no change in volume or just a slight rise (positive) and you're set to go. Hope this helps.

Try this and see if it helps.... set the ground balance positive by turning the knob clockwise until the detector gets louder as you lower it to the ground and then slowly turn it back while raising the coil up and down. This may help with the "overshoot" problem you are experiencing. Also when raising the detector back up, wait until the threshold goes back to normal before you lower it after making adustments.

Take a deep breath, Dave, and let your blood pressure drop a bit.

Follow Bill's excellent and easy to use directions and you'll be all set.

Hi Dave,
If you are having problems, PLEASE call us at Tesoro. We are always more than happy to assist you over the phone. Did you buy this from a dealer, or over the internet? If you bought this from a local dealer, I am sure they would be happy to give you a hands-on demo.

If you have emailed us and not received a reply, I sincerely apologize. We have problems with spam, and your IPS may have not forwarded our reply because a spammer has used our IP address in the past (darn spammers)....some servers will not let our reply emails through. Sorry this has caused you (and us) grief.

We would like the opportunity to make you a happy customer. You can always email me directly, or call. I doubt an email would be sufficient, given your statement, that you are a "hands-on" guy. We generally have above average customer service ratings, according to our customers. We can walk you through it since the manual does not appear to be helping you.

We will have videos in the future, fyi.

I just got my Vaquero back after having you all go over it and make sure all is well with it and got it back in great shape and with a personal note from Rusty Henry saying what was done and also he included at no charge a new battery door. I called and was told when it was worked on, when it was shipped, all around in every way you guys are super and we all appreciate your great service.

Hope all is well with everyone there at Tesoro!

Thanks much,
Neil
