Ground Balance

kickback

New member
I'm new to detecting.I have a Vaquero.I have noticed that the ground balance seems to be real close to the same at the sites I hunt.Is this normal?I check the GB frequently but it doesn't seem to change much.

It means that your ground composition is less mineralized, or very consistant. Just keep it there, but if you go to a new area, check it to make sure it is ok at the new site too. If you ever find an area that has a lot of falsing, check it to make sure that you havent moved into an "hotter" area. Best of luck with it!

Nope not at all. Same where I am it usually only moves 5 or 10 degrees. But, there are a few spots that I know are hot soil and that is why I got the V.

You could always experiment with running your gb hotter or cooler just to see what it does. It may help you recognise it in the field if there is a soil change.

rentasquid is right about rechecking your GB often. Try this ; make a notation of where the GB is sey at. Now have someone move the GB dial then go out and reground balance again and see if the setting is close to what you noted before (over the same soil). I've seen people ground balance ?? thinking they have it right when in reality they come up with different settings on second tries. I don't have a Vaquero but wish I did instead my BandidoIIMM.
