Ground balance///

I must be blind because I cant find anything in the manual, probably overlooking it. Im sure the ETrac is tracking the ground for the cancel of the ground. Is there a way to lock this in if you do not want continious tracking of the ground? I would like to know how it handles it, for instance in an area full of old rusty nails, how does it not read the nails as part of the ground? I only have experience with my Whites machines, and with the ones I have you can lock the ground tracking after you balance the machine. Yes, Im ignorant, but not stupid. Ignorance is just a lack of knowledge, stupid is to the bone, lol.
Thanks,
John

Do you mean manual sensitivity? Simply press arrow right or left and it will swap the modes: Auto and Manual. In Auto Mode you can adjust sens.

Hi Lubelaczek,
No, Im wanting to know how the ground balance works on the ETrac. I understand sensitivity. Im sure the ETrac is tracking the ground and making its own adjustments to illiminate the ground signals.
I know in some situations I hunt with my Whites machines, which also track the ground, I sometimes lock the tracking if in a very nasty area full of iron targets.
For the most part, most areas I hunt are mild as far as ground mineralzation.
Thanks,
John

The full ban spectrum looks at the ground and after a brief period analysis recognizes the signal produced by the ground and then Simply "IGNORES IT"..from that point on. The ground signal is then subtracted from the signal produced by a target the machine passes over FBS provides a circuit that can constantly analyze the ground conditions while ignoring any adverse effects the ground signal causes..

Page 11 in Andy's book covers it better.....Hope this covers what you wanted to know.

Thanks Elton, you hit the nail on the head, thats what I was wanting to know. You know, with the Whites I use, you balance and let the machine track the ground or you can lock the balance even tho the machines circuit continues to track.
I knew the ETrac had to have a circuit to moniter the signals from the ground and deal with them.
Thanks again Elton for the time you took to look that up and post it for me. Im ordering Andys book tonight.
Best to you,
John
