Ground balance

I’m not sure if I’m ground balancing right. Right after it does the battery check I make sure everything is set to presets and the switch is set to ground and then I lift the coil up and down about 12 inches 3-4 times.
I was also wondering if I should pull back on the trigger to find a quiet piece of ground and then ground balance? Can you reground balance after you have been hunting for a while, or do you need to shut it off and start all over again?

The best I have found is pull the trigger back and find a clean spot, then ground balance like you are doing. If you run trac it will be ground balancing as you use it, but if you lock the ground balance then i would reground balance after you start working a differnt area. I find that trac works better for me unless there is alot of nails in the area, or if I try to work a signal that if faint and want to go over it several time to try to get a better lock on. If not I can trac the signal as minerals and lose the signal. When this happens I have to mark the signal, reground balance and lock the trac and go back to the signal I marked.
