My first real detector was the original Tesoro Eldorado which I purchased back around 1987 and remember worrying back then if I was ground balancing properly.? I would carry my instruction manual with me out in the field while practicing ground balancing. I found it a little easier to ground balance while in all-metal/normal tune because of the slower retune speed when you lower your coil to the ground while listening for the threshold change. Your Bandido II has the same Auto/Normal/Retune spring loaded tuning switch to possibly help with your ground balancing because it gives you more time to hear the threshold change....getting louder or going silent. While using this ground balancing technique just be sure to flip and release the tuning switch to retune to bring back the threshold sound or after making any changes to ground balance. Manually ground balancing at first can seem confusing but with a little practice you will realize how easy it is!
