Ground balance to salt??????

New member
On the F75, 70 and 5 does that mean it should adjust well for use in the wet salt area of the coast?

Tinfoil and a few others have much more experience then I do with the F75 in salt and hopefully one will chime in. In my limited experience on salt water beaches, the F75 will hunt wet sand fairly decently in all metal and manual ground balancing at about 4-10. On dry sand it is about the same as hunting on land. The two times I used the F75 on beaches was on St. Simons Island, Ga, so other beaches may be different. TINFOIL, I KNOW YOU ARE ON THE BEACHES SWINGING, GIVE US A FEW WORDS OF WISDOM. HH jim tn

Mark,

yes, the F70 can GB to salt, it actually GBs all the way down to ZERO which does cover salt. I took mine to the beach and it does work. When taking the F70 to the beach and want to GB to salt, it MUST BE in the All Metal mode to do so, THEN switch back to disc if thats the mode you want to detect in.

Disc mode has a SAFETY built in that will NOT allow GB below a value of 40. And YES, the ALL METAL GB value carries over to the Disc mode 100%.

This in my opinion does not automatically mean it is the BEST detector to use on the wet salt beach.

While it works, there are others I feel would be better suited to be used there.
