Ground balance question.

2 Many hobbies

New member
At the beach today after i ground balanced the at pro on the wet sand. It ground balanced high i cant remember what the numbers were but they weren't in the teens. When i held the GB button and pumped the coil up and down the detector did not seem to GB quiet. I had some chatter every swing, is this normal or is it supposed to be quiet. The beach is in New York it was my first time there with the AT pro so i don't know how stable the at pro is in the wet sand. I will have to remember the ground balance numbers next time. I also tried lowering the sensitivity but it did not help, When you got a good target you did hear it loud and clear. Some of the targets were 6-8 inches dawn and sounded loud. I just wish it was a bit more quiet.

sounds like you may have too manually ground balance too get a better ground balance number or when you ground balanced you were over a piece of metal .If that doesnt help give Garrett a call

I seem to remember in some past post that the guys
were getting 13 to 20s as ground balanced in salty environments.

Next time i hit the beach before I ground balance I'm going to scan it with iron audio just to make sure i don't ground balance over iron or trash item. I also noticed testing the AT pro I'm my house switching through the 4 frequencies Frequency # 4 pickup less interference.
