Ground balance question :stretcher:

2 things I would check.
1. If there is a coil cover on check it is nor full of wet sand.
2. Perhaps operating frequency.

After every battery change out you are supposed to do a master reset. When turning the Power On, hold the Power button down until you hear the double beep. This may or may not fix your issue but never the less, remember to do that after every battery change out. This come from one of the Garrett techs.

THANK FOR THE INFO BUT THAT DID NOT HELP.:sadwalk:

I would send it back, pulltaber!

I have been experiencing the same problem. I thought it was just me but when i first started using the pro i could easily tell a bottle cap and now they all seem like good targets. Im going to try the master reset and if that doesnt work im going to send it to dr. Garrett

One thing I learned from the techs when I had a problem with my unit refusing to do an auto ground balance. If the mineralization is too light it doesn't work well in auto. I still ended up getting a replacement for a bad coil and an updated board but when it returned I still had trouble getting it to do an auto balance at a few, but not all, sites. That turned out to be what was happening after the coil was fixed.

Ive struck a similar thing after heavy repeated rain, when a lot of the mineralization is drained deeper into the ground. Prior to the soaking I could hear the auto ground balance strongly grunting its way to 86 where it normally is for this area. but after a heavy soaking its almost like the soil is neutralized and I have to use manual ground balance to get a solid reaction. Its great having both manual and auto ground balance
